Wings at the Speed of Sound

I just finished watching Wingspan the Wings TV documentary done in 2001. They talked about when Wings at the Speed of Sound was released and madness happened. When Wings played in Seattle there were sooooo many people it scared me! They were all running around and they were happy to be going to the concert. It was pretty epic and I wish I could have been there. Really awesome time. And of course in 1976 there were soo many other acts that people would die for to see. So if you went to any concerts during the 70s i applaud. NICE JOB!

Paul McCartney and Wings

What the hell do u do after the Beatles??? Well Paul McCartney answered that question. He formed Wings in 1971 and the group consisted of Paul, his wife Linda, Denny Laine and Denny Seiwell. The line up constantly changed except for Paul, Linda, and Denny Line. Songs like, "Band on the Run, Jet, and Silly Love Songs," landed Wings on the charts. Unlike some other post-Beatles projects in the 1970s Wings was more than a back up band for Paul. The band was a unit and other members beside Paul wrote or co wrote some of their songs. The band toured around the world and Paul and Linda's children traveled with them. I think it would be awesome to tour around the world because my parents were musicians. But then you add the fact that PAUL MCCARTNEY is my father and it's the best time ever! The band broke up in 1981 but Paul still performs some of the groups songs today. Unfortunately Paul's lovely Linda died from breast cancer in 1998. :^( But we don't wanna bring the whole thing up. Paul McCartney rocks and with Wings he was just amazing and awesome. In fact the whole group was. Wings was "THE" band to be in after the Beatles.

Well Hello

Its been a very long time! Sorry I have been immensely busy. School and life has worn me down and I have had no time to write. First I would like to address John Lennon. I wish him a very late 70th birthday.Though I wasn't born when he was killed or when he was doing his solo stuff or with the Beatles his music is amazing and wonderful. His death is only marked by tragedy. The world misses him very much and I....WE all wish he was still alive and well singing for us and making more amazing music! We love you John and always will. Next George Harrison died 9 years ago today. He was amazing and truly talented. His music was tastefully written. Here comes the sun is probably my favorite songs of all time. Very sad when he died I was quite young and had no idea.Just another tragedy in the band. Not as great as John Lennon's death mostly because his was unexpected but still horribly sad. R.I.P peace and love thank you for your amazing music and we love you.Sigh im making myself sad. Very unfortunate. Oy sooo sad. Well that's really all this post is dedicated in their honor thank you both again for your amazing music we love you and always will. Thank you!

Bob Marley

The man of peace and the king of reggae brought music to a new level when he appeared on the music scene. Bob Marley was born in the small village of Nine Mile in Saint Ann Parish, Jamaica as Robert Nesta Marley. He was brought in a two room shack by his mother, Cedella. When Bob was ten he and his mother moved to Kingston to hopefully find a better life. With little money they were forced to settle in Trenchtown. A place full of disease and and gangs. There Bob met Bunny Wailer and they started to jam on homemade instruments. They started to jam with Joe Higgs a local singer and devout Rastafarian. Bob and Bunny perfected their sound by playing on the streets of Trenchtown. There they met Peter Tosh. The band released the single, "Simmer Down." It became a number one single on the Jamaican billboard. Rita Anderson worked her way into the studio and Bob and her started to see each other. They then got married on February 10, 1966. Soon after the wedding Bob traveled to the United States. He returned to Jamaica with 700 bucks. He a woke to a new religion, Rastafari. Part of the religion is smoking. Fast forward a bit and Bob Marley breaks up with the wailers and goes on his own way. Being famous came with prices. He was scheduled to play a free concert organized by the Jamaican Prime Minister Michael Manley in an attempt to ease tension between two warring political groups. To some this meant Marley was in favor for Manley to win. Marley, his wife, and manager Don Taylor were wounded in an assault by unknown gunmen inside Marley's home two days before the event. But Marley played the concert with a smile. His days were spreading his message of peace and he was happy to do so. But he was soon told he had malignant melanoma. Despite this he kept on playing But soon the cancer spread to his lungs and brain. He died on the morning of 11 May 1981, at the age of 36. He left a great legacy that people celebrate everyday. R.I.P
